I’m currently using freenas .7
i Really like using it even though im new to it, it gives a real relief regarding file backups…
I just noticed that file permission and restriction was not that uhmn, well maybe it’s just me…
I need to configure this..
the user can copy paste and create file in the freenas but he/she must not able to delete it…
For now that’s is my dream come true about freenas…
It’s a great application!…,
try browsing to the shared folder you need secure permission on (no delete) – right click and select properties >> security >> advanced >> edit.
select the user(s) and/or user group (easier)
select edit
select apply to folder and/or subfolders
select appropriate options (delete, delete subfolders/files)
click ok!
that should do it.
please note – im am not an expert, i have not extensively tested this. there maybe a loophole in this, or a faster way to do it (chmod FTW!)
Good Luck!
